The one thing that really amazes me when I take the camera out in public, especially on a busy intersection in Hamilton, is the amount of people who come over and start talking to me about photography and sharing their stories, debating Nikon v Canon and the good old days of having their own dark rooms.

I like to visit my parents house back in Byron Bay as often as I can during spring because there is always an abundance of colour to photograph, this is just a small part of that.

On our way back to LA we decided to take the coastal route between San Francisco and Los Angeles down the Big Sur coast, on the way we stopped at a beach; it was a boring, pretty bland looking beach with almost nothing of any interest to photograph, except this couple who were standing behind this rock for a good 20 minutes, I walked up to them but they didn't want a photo so I kept walking keeping a keen eye on what the waves were doing, and just as one came in I swung around and snapped this.

After a very long trek across the city, involving a bus which didn't go anywhere near where it told us it was going, then a taxi ride from some unknown location further from where we started, we finally arrived at the Golden Gate Bridge shortly after sunset to capture this.

While on our way from Vancouver back to LA, we stopped at Bovees Nursery – the largest Rhododendron nursery in America, if not the northern hemisphere.

This flower had just opened and was less than 10mm in size.

On my last night in Vancouver my mate Sean Lind mentioned there was some fireworks happening on English Bay, so we made our way down there about 3 hours before they started, thinking we would be the only ones keen enough at that hour, we were wrong, but we managed to secure a nice spot on the hillside.

10 minutes before the show began they sent out a warning shot, this is what I captured.

This is a really nice Harley we found parked on the side of the road on the way to Vancouver, this guy must be so hardcore that if anyone dared steal it he'd have Chuck Norris waiting for them when they got home, pretty sure he was in the trees taking a leak when we pulled up, but we never met him.

On my first visit to America, jet lagged and about ready to sleep, we drove from Los Angles to Vegas through the desert, my father described it as 'Driving into hell', It was 48º in the shade (Thats about 110º in the old money), the first thing we did once we had checked-in at the Luxor was sleep, then at about 10pm I woke up and decided to go for a walk down the strip, outside was still as hot as an oven and there was so much to see on the way I couldn't believe it took an hour to walk just over a mile to see the Fountains of Bellagio, but well worth it, I got there literally a minute before they started.
